1st week of 2008

On my way to tuition , the corridor was relaid with cement ! planks need to navigate across , reminds me of kampong times

1st week - tuesday : downgraded starhub plan to lite , 1mb/s download 256kb/s upload
i don't need 8mb/s , most downloads never reach that high anyway , but i test out for one month to see how it goes , if really not much difference then sign on

you don't need such a huge prick if there is no hole to poke !

thats a savings of $(59.92 - 29.96 = 29.96)/ month or $719 for 24 months
if i sign on , it would be further reduce to $25 i think , additional savings of around $4 monthly or $96 over 24 months

i went to resume tuition , asraf's granny never gave a reason but merely said she made other arrangements =( $200 gone monthly , joel change school from anderson to hua chong international , another $540 gone monthly =( i ish broke !

i managed to finish icp assignment on culture =) do until si beh song , assignment 1 got 45 too , by just cutting and paste

went to wisma's sony ericsson to exchange headset but omg they dun accept it ! say wear and tear can't be xchanged , then i demand to know why their call center say can , then he say his just following company policy ****ing dulan.

had lunch with colin to catch up , 1st class student leh ! hanxiang and "ah zhu" both doing well , he reminded me now is the time to secure an employment liao!

but after that lost my citibank tap and save debit card ! dulan , luckily their call center responsive , replacement coming soon , no value lost

Schedule next week ,

pay exam entry $1042 !! $$$
wed afternoon OTIA study with Agnes
sat 7pm yao's bday @ wheelock F & co.

An interesting idea from :

http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/1330/Fukubukuro/

A "Fukubukuro" [福袋[ふくぶくろ]] is a bag full of goodies that goes on sale all over Japan from the 1st of January. "Fuku" means "fortune" and "Bukuro" (pronounced "Fukuro" on its own) means "bag."
15000 people queued up outside a department store in Ikebukuro to get their hands on one.

The tradition of the Fukubukuro goes back to the late Meiji period where it was invented by the Matsuzakaya department store in Ginza (source.)

The bag is sealed and the person buying one doesn't know whats inside. Its usually filled with stuff that the shop couldn't get rid of the previous year - but nobody would buy them if they were called "Shite-we-couldnt-get-rid-of-bag." So what store owners do is put a highly valued item inside some of the bags - brand name items which make some of the bags worth buying.

Perhaps could do something in singapore too ? i dun have the capacity to do it myself though =(
