Channel NewsAsia vs CNBC's coverage of our employment situation...

Channel NewsAsia as usual, is very optimistic. It says more jobs were created in early 2008. Hooray! Oh, but wait... CNBC carrying a report by Reuters, paints a bleak picture. It says that the jobless rate in Singapore has risen and may climb further.

So which is it? More jobs or more jobless? Argh! I'm confused.

My comments : when looking at an issue, look from multiple perspectives and determine the actual story .. use triangulation ! speaks volumes of our media =)

Theory section:

I think the world is overpopulated liao... thats why so many problems coming up

the world can only sustain enough people such that the energy consumption of people is < or = the energy captured from the sun via various mechanisms.
going beyond this will be unsustainable in the very long run.

in the amazon , there is a fungi that feeds on each species of ants , controlling their population.
in the human society , there is little mechanisms that can effectively control the boom in population.

Predators ? Nah thats exception rather then norm.
Diseases ? Not enough fatal ones out there.
Natural disasters? Not devastating enough.

that burst in population leads to so many of out problem , like the strong oil demand , the food prices , even global warming can be attributed to the this surge in population.

So Humans should set up a multilateral agreement to have controls that will keep the population growth in check , without harming either the short term / long term economic health of all parties , and stifle the effect of overpopulation on the long term sustainability of humans on earth.

if the end of the world were to be resulted , its probably a result of our own doing , or the lack of any.
